Sewing Socks: Intro to Knits

Socks! Yes, you can sew socks! Learn to sew knit fabric on a regular sewing machine with this intro to knits class including how to cut, sew and finish knits. The Jalie sock pattern is a great place to start sewing knits! A quick, fun, and practical class. This class includes the fabric you will need, but does not include the pattern. You will need to purchase the pattern separately from Jalie.

Before Class:
Purchase the pattern from Jalie (it is a $5 pattern available on their website). Print out the pattern from the PDF. Tape and cut the size that you wish to make. For half sizes, please chose the next size up. The pair we will be making in class will be shorter socks that go just below your calf (the pattern includes full knee highs but we will be making the shorter socks to start). Please bring the printed and assembled pattern with you to class.

Note: This is not a serger class. The entire knit project will be sewn and finished on your sewing machine.

We have sewing machines (Janome HD 5000) available for use during the class or you can bring your own.

Please indicate if you would like to use one of our machines or if you plan to bring your own.

All class registrations are subject to our registration policy .
