Beginners will appreciate that large seam allowances give a bigger margin for error.

Our notes: This blog post is rich with tips and tricks, we definitely recommend reading it before making this pattern. Our main takeaway is that you should use fabric with 20-30% stretch for this pattern. Any more stretch and the dress will lose its structure and change the fit significantly.

[The pattern] included some pretty tricky manoeuvring at the seams where top, side, pocket, and skirt all come together, but it worked out ok.

Our notes: Ponte has a great combination of structure, stretch, and drape. In this dress, that means a super flattering yet super comfy fit!

Looks amazing! Good work. At first glance, I thought you had the tiniest waist I had ever seen, then I realised it was yellow fabric.

Our notes: This Captain Marvel-themed dress uses colour blocking for both lovely waist shaping and awesome superhero powers. This dress embodies my favourite Captain Marvel quote: "I have nothing to prove to you."
