This is the peak of linen, as far as I'm concerned. Gorgeous natural hues in a subtle yet interesting jacquard weave? Linen, texture, and geometrics? I'm in love. I'm absolutely smitten with it. I have no idea (and frankly, don't care) which side of this fabric is considered the "right" side- it doesn't matter as both are gorgeous. On one side, there is a slight fringe around the woven spots; not so much as to yell Honkey-Tonk at you, but enough to add some texture and flair. On the other side, the woven dots are just a slight difference in the texture of the fabric. This is great for me, personally, because I can greedily purchase all the colours and have them look different enough that no one is questioning the fact that I'm just wearing one fabric over and over again. I know I'm often overly excited about the fabrics we get in, but this is definitely my new favourite (shhh don't tell the rayons).
*the photo shows the slight fuzzy fringe around what I'm trying really to not call polkadots. The other side is much more subtle but I don't have photos of it yet because then I'd have to put the fabric down.
**This colour has a brown thread running through it, lending it a glorious hue that shifts a little in the light
Sustainability: Linen is made from flax, a plant which requires less water than cotton, and with which very little waste is produced as most parts of the plant can be used. Linen typically uses fewer pesticides than cotton. Linen is extremely durable and will last longer than other fibres.
