I just adore a good yarn-dye stripe! This is absolutely gorgeous striped linen- it's soft with a subtle sheen. I personally find it much softer than some other linens, which can have a slight prickle factor at first. Like all linens, it will get softer and have more drape and movement with wash and wear.
The stripes would be so fun to play with; you could run them horizontally or vertically, or get really creative and find pattern cut on the bias! There is lots of room to play with these.
I love linen as an all-year fabric. While it is wonderfully cool in the summer, when worn as a base layer in the winter, it helps regulate temperature. I'm always quite comfortable in bulky knits when I wear my linen shirts under them!
Stripes run parallel to the selvedge.
Sustainability: Linen is made from flax, a plant which requires less water than cotton, and with which very little waste is produced as most parts of the plant can be used. Linen typically uses fewer pesticides than cotton. Linen is extremely durable and will last longer than other fibres.
